description
High Point is an upright growing romaine heart variety with a medium green color. This variety does best on a 76” wide, 5 line bed at 8.5-9” spacing. It does best during main season in Santa Maria, CA. It has a solid mid-rib, strong tip-burn tolerance, partial downy mildew package (7-8 US), TBSV, and NR0 disease resistances. This variety works extremely well for automated romaine heart harvest and automated bagging. It is 11-12” if you cut it prior to cupping, 10.5-11.5” after cupping. This variety will hold in the field for about 5-7 days past maturity before tip-burn can be prevalent. Medium to long core, can cut higher than average romaine heart variety during harvest.
